Video Professor Recognition

Successfully teaching millions of satisfied customers the skills needed to efficiently use computers is the key reason that Video Professor products receive numerous awards. The highest praise comes from the customers themselves who give rave reviews of the distance learning system that taught them the tools that they needed to succeed. However, a number of organizations have also recognized Video Professor for outstanding film and video production, as well as marketing and communication creativity.

For their outstanding achievement from marketing and communications professionals, the Video Professor creative services and production teams were awarded two MarCom Creative Awards. These teams were well deserving of the awards for their work on the famous Video Professor commercials and packaging. Thanks to the work of these teams, John W. Scherer, CEO and founder of Video Professor, has become known as a star of the infomercial world. When one thinks about infomercials, one of the first images to come to mind is Scherer holding a Video Professor lesson saying, “Try my product.®”

The higher of the two honors was bestowed upon the creative services and production teams for their work on the Learn eBay® commercial. This 60-second TV commercial received a Platinum Award in the Television/Single spot category at the MarCom Creative Awards, while the Video Professor Internet Security tutorial packaging received a Gold Award in the Design/Packaging category. Additionally, the Internet Security tutorial single CD also received Honorable Mention in the Design/Illustration/Graphic Design category.

The MarCom Creative Awards are given out by the Association of Marketing and Communication professionals to marketing and communication professionals who are central in the conception, writing and design of marketing and communication programs and print, as well as audio and visual materials. Nominees and winners hail from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers with the vast array of entrants acting as a testament to the significance of these awards.

In addition to the MarCom Awards, for the past three years Video Professor has won many Aurora Awards® for excellence in film and video production. A Platinum Best of Show Award was bestowed upon the Learn How to Buy and Sell on eBay tutorial in the Technology/Computer Training category for the work of the in-house production team. The Learn Wireless Networking and Learn The Internet with the AOL® Service tutorials also earned Gold Awards in this category.

The Aurora Awards recognize people in the film and video industries who have captivated their audiences with their products and skills. These people hail from private and corporate production groups, advertising agencies and television stations. The awards provide deserved recognition to programs, CD-ROMs and commercials that would not otherwise have the chance to compete on an international level. This competition does just that by finding the best of the film, video, and multimedia industries around the world. The Aurora Awards have entrants from every state in the U.S., as well as Canada, Hong Kong, Denmark and Mexico, among others.
